FALCON’S 5 STAR SAFETY RATING
On August 6th, in an eagerly anticipated announcement from the Australian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP), the new FG Falcon has become the first Australian built car to be awarded a maximum 5 star crash safety rating.
The coveted 5 star rating is awarded only to vehicles which not only pass a 64km/h frontal impact but a 50km/h side impact test as well.
Other locally produced vehicles like the Holden VE Commodore, and Toyota Camry and Aurion have not managed to achieve this accolade which matches luxury cars such as the Mercedes Benz C Class in terms of occupant protection. This reflects the FG Falcon’s design integrity which has factored in many passive and dynamic safety features including 6 airbags, anti-lock braking and dynamic stability control.*
A FG Falcon XT equipped with a curtain airbag ($300 option), undercuts the price of a similarly equipped Holden VE Omega and offers occupants a greater level of protection in the event of a collision. Factor into this the low cost of Falcon’s proven dedicated Egas engine and Falcon wins hands down on purchase price and running costs.
If driver and family safety are important to you, and you are looking to eliminate OH&S concerns new FG Falcon is now the clear choice.
*Dynamic Stability Control is not available on Dedicated LPG vehicles.
